Jan Huss of Bohemia (1369 - 1413), a Bohemian (in what is today the Czech Republic) priest in the Roman Catholic Church. He was concerned that too much political power was in the hands of the Church. His sermons argued that the Church should not even own land much less control secular power. He was was condemned as a heretic by the Roman Catholic Church and burned at the stake by the secular authorities.
